News - Scotland 2010 nearly upon us..

Is it finally time that we succeed in embarking back into the wild after so many missed chances? I hope so!

There's about a week left before our planned departure. We have an entirely new area to explore. After some internet research, it looks like we're in for some great scenery and a good challenge with our chosen route.



Some problems to overcome are:

-Replacing MOD rations with supermarket-bought food whilst keeping the weight sensible for 7-8 days!

-My boots have just decided to start leaking through the Gore-Tex lining, so wearing in my new pair of Scarpa Mantas. See blog.

-Finding somewhere to stay the first night before we set off into the wild having driven the 14 hours to our intended area.

-Unpredictable weather: The Scottish highlands are currently experiencing heavy snowfalls. We have no idea if we're going to face blizzards, warm sun or non-stop rain. Just looking at the Glencoe webcam, it looks pretty wintery at the moment.

Apart from these things, preparation is coming along nicely, despite JVR being in Poland right now. Lets hope neither of us gets ill.
